Discover the unique beauty of Shiprock in New Mexico! This towering rock formation rises 1,583 feet above the high-desert plain, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Believed to be the remains of an ancient volcanic eruption, Shiprock is a sacred site for the Navajo Nation and is surrounded by rich cultural and spiritual history. Hike to the base of the formation for a closer look, or simply admire its majestic presence from a distance. I found Shiprock to be excessively dramatic. While I could not get the early morning red rays of the sun (because of clouds on the horizon), this still turned out pretty good. There is literally nothing else to do here and we actually got lost trying to get out of there. Only worth visiting from a dramatic scenery point of view.
