Welcome to the final episode of Skies’ Day in the Life of the RCAF series, which ran all throughout 2024 to celebrate the Air Force’s centennial. In this episode, we explore one of the RCAF’s primary search-and-rescue aircraft types, the CC-130H Hercules. While the Herc is also used for transport missions, its main focus is saving lives. This massive aircraft can carry roughly 80 passengers, can operate on short, unpaved runways, and has a range of more than 7,200 kilometres. In this video, hear from 435 Squadron about their day-to-day operations with the CC-130H Hercules. The Skies team would like to once again congratulate the RCAF on 100 years of service.
