This model of CX-5 was launched in 2012 as a totally new model from Mazda, with a new SKYACTIVE platform and a new 2.2 litre turbo-diesel engine which was compliant with EURO6 regulations and hence is ULEZ compliant - way ahead of its rival, most of which did not become ULEZ complaint until 2016. As a result these cars are highly desirable - combining the peace of mind of ULEZ compliance with £35 road tax for one of the lowest running costs in its class. Crossovers like this have got ever-more popular over recent years, and it's easy to see why. The Mazda CX-5 offers easy access and plenty of space for up to 5 adults and their luggage. The boot is huge and has a large opening and a level floor, for ease of use. The 2.2 litre turbo-diesel engine offers excellent performance and the 6 speed manual gearbox has a short, sporty feel to its throw, Typical of Mazda, this car has a sporting edge to the way it drives, with responsive steering and fine handling. It is comfortable over all road surfaces and very refined at all speeds. I love the full leather interior that you get in this SPORT model with a high quality feel. If you're looking for comfort and performance with sure footed handling, then the CX-5 provides all of this in a neat and handsome package that is little bigger than a regular family saloon. As a result it feels a lot more nimble than larger SUVs and is easy to maneuver and park. Talking of parking, the CX-5 benefits from front and rear parking sensors, and a superb reverse parking camera - So it makes light work of tight maneuvers. Our car is immaculately presented with unmarked alloy wheels and bodywork. It is a real headturner, finished in deep metallic blue and original 19" alloys wheels which are shod with premium brand tyres and are in excellent condition. The colour combination of dark metallic and light leather interior certainly makes it really stand out from the crowd. The CX-5 is a quality product and despite having covered 82k miles from new, this car still looks and performs like new. It also comes with a large amount of history which we will list in detail below. The specification is great with dual zone climate control, which blows ice cold, and heated seats ready for the winter months. The Interior has a lovely blend of materials and is very aesthetically pleasing. It's comfortable and roomy enough for 4 adults to sit in complete comfort (5 at a push) and the perfect place to unwind. To the rear you have a capacious 503 litre boot with a flat floor and further storage beneath it. There is also a towbar fitted to this car, allowing you make use of the CX5's superb 2000kg towing capacity - making it one of the most capable tow-cars in its class. Mazda have an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. The CX-5 feels well built and has handy features such as its matt plastic wheelarch extensions which save the cars bodywork from having doors open onto it in the supermarket car-park - it's certainly done its job as well, because the bodywork of the 2015 car is nothing short of immaculate. It looks tough and rugged, but this 2wd model was designed to perform superbly on the road, so it goes, stops and handles like a regular saloon car. The ride and handling are better than most conventional sports saloons and you could happily drive with the crusie control set to 70, all day long.
