Marcu Jura: Pricolici (Wolf Men)

Marcu Jura is an ethnographer and farmer from the Parang Mountains of south-west Transylvania. He's unusual for a shepherd in that he has a doctorate. This is a clip from some conversations I was lucky enough to have with him in November 2016. We were talking in one of Marcu's pastures, with his sheep and sheep dogs for company. It was a stunning day with sparkling sun and crisp, fresh air, and our surroundings felt as though they were not of this world, like some kind of fairy tale. They came to seem even more extraordinary as Marcu recounted his experiences there.
