This is a lesson on some concepts of how to safely insert a Capsular Tension Ring into the capsular bag. A Capsular Tension Ring is used for cases with weeks on yours, where the capsular bag may be loose, and the ring is used to ensure some stability of the capsular bag and create a round capsule to safely insert a lens. I typically will use a sinskey hook to safely guide the capsular tension ring into the capsular bag. This is to ensure that the ring does not get caught in the bag and cause a tear and to make sure it is guided safely into the capsule and not into the sulcus space or anterior chamber.
