RFI RANDOM CLIPS #08 - KEN Films STAR WARS 8mm B&W reel (no sound) HD scan and transfer

Star Wars came to home video in 1982 and was released in a variety of formats over the next few years, including VHS, Beta, Laserdisc, and CED, among others. But for 5 years the ONLY way fans could watch Star Wars, and eventually The Empire Strikes Back at home was to purchase the reels from KEN Films. Any Star Wars home video collection really starts here. So after doing some research, I purchased the first B&W Star Wars reel that was on the market to add to my collection and as an experiment I digitally scanned the reel of film using my home film scanner. Then I took the scan and loaded it into Premiere and did a little bit of clean up and re-cropping to the image. Presented here in Full HD at 24p for archival purposes is the first B&W silent 8mm film reel of Star Wars from 1977. As this reel was the version without sound I have created an audio presentation with music and a few light sound fx to enhance the viewing. (If you really want the authentic experience, mute the sound on the video, and in another tab open up a video with an 8mm projector sound effect and play that over the video. There's a link in the description for the projector sound fx.) Hope you guys enjoy. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Rockensuess Productions. Projector Sound Effect:    • Видео   *FAIR USE/COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER* Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976, allowance is made for "FAIR USE" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education, and research. FAIR USE is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of FAIR USE. *FAIR USE/DMCA DISCLAIMER* All media content from the STAR WARS movies is the property of LucasFilm Ltd. Twentieth Century Fox Fanfare is the property of Twentieth Century Fox/Fox Studios. ALL content is being used in accordance with, as described in the preamble of Section 107, the conditions necessary to be considered FAIR USE. Specifically the content is being used for research, archival, and educational purposes and the material used has been altered significantly so as to be transformative of the original work. The original film reel from KEN Films was scanned in at 20p by RFI and then converted to 24p. No pre-existing digital content was used in the 8mm presentation. As the original 8mm reel has no sound, the audio presentation has been produced especially for this video presentation and comes from raw sound effects and music tracks. I do not own Star Wars or its related content but do reserve the right to the copyright of this video presentation in the interests of archiving a piece of Star Wars history and for research and educational purposes, all previously stated. Additionally, personal out of pocket expenses were made in order to produce this video, including but not limited to the music CD's, 8mm film reel, and digital film scanner.
