Rep. McCormick Amendment BANS U.S. Military Censorship!
Rep. Rich McCormick (GA-06) introduced an amendment to the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act which forbids the Department of Defense from contracting or cooperating with any organization that facilitates censorship of Americans and their news sources. The House Armed Services Committee agreed to the amendment in a session on Wednesday. “Political correctness is sabotaging our military from within, even as the Pentagon faces a recruiting shortage,” said Rep. McCormick. "My amendment prohibits the Department of Defense from contracting with any so-called 'misinformation' or 'disinformation' monitors that rate news and information sources. These media monitors claim to be nonpartisan while almost always serving to censor conservative viewpoints and bury stories that the Left doesn't like. Suppression of our First Amendment rights has no place in our Armed Forces, and I look forward to my amendment becoming law."
