Just going through the rocks and gravel from my bag of Regular Ore that I got from Jason at Mount Baker Mining and Metals @mbmmllc. I had previously classified it from rocks all the way down to silt. Now I'm grading it and separating out what I believe to be my high grade ore which includes what may be a couple of good specimen rocks. I may slab some of the better ones just to see what is inside. Working from left to right, the higher grade has good color, mineralization, sulfides, and areas that may have been susceptible to intrusion. The second grade is more homogeneous quartz with a somewhat paler color and no real visible signs of potential gold. The third grade is mostly all native rock, a few pieces have a small amount of quartz on them that could likely be removed with a little hammering. It isn't much at all and it may just all go in the waste pile. Though there may be a slim chance of flour gold in the area where the quartz meets the rock so I may thump on it for good measure. There is also some ungraded sand and silt that is too small to go through effectively. There seems to be a good visible amount of native rock gravel. I started with almost 28 pounds total and have lost very little to dust. I'm not sure how I want to deal with it because it is pretty hard stuff to work and I want to not invest too much effort crushing waste rock. This looks tedious, and it is in a certain way, but it is also meditative. It is also going to help later when it is time to process it because I have a much better idea of what I am dealing with. If I had a jaw crusher, I could have just dumped it all in at once and been mostly done with it. But that would take all the fun out of figuring it all out. I just wanted to share this with you to see what you think. I've got some ideas that I will be sharing with you as I go on this journey. I hope you enjoy.
