The Rainbow Mountain Loop Trail is about a 2 mile moderately trafficked hiking trail located on a small mountain inside the city limits of Madison, Alabama. The fever of an Alabama summer broke on this morning and it was cool enough for a short hike. I hiked this one solo, but wasn't alone on this trail as many others in the community had the same idea. This trail features a lot of amazing limestone rock formations including two balancing rocks. Hiking it the way I did, in a clockwise loop, there is about 400 ft of altitude lost and then gained right back again, but it is a beautiful walk in the woods.
