14 Coins In A Day....Silver Streak Continues!! | Metal Detecting UK Midlands

Welcome back to These Detecting Days with Adz – History Unearthed, for another exciting UK metal detecting adventure. In this episode I return to what i now call the “Groat Permission” in the Midlands – the same field that previously produced a huge silver hammered coin. Armed with the XP Deus 2 metal detector, I head out into extremely wet and waterlogged conditions after heavy rain… but what happens next turns into a serious coin shoot! During this session I uncover 14 coins in a single day, spanning centuries of British history. The field continues its incredible run as the silver streak continues, producing two beautiful silver coins – a Victorian silver threepence from 1860 and an Irish silver slap token. Alongside the silver are a range of historic Georgian and later British coins, including examples from George I, George II, George III and William III, plus several George V pennies and halfpennies. The finds don’t stop there either, with interesting artefacts such as a Georgian cup trade weight and an old steelyard weight emerging from the soil.
