Get your Hot Rod Reverend gear at https://www.hotrodreverend.com/shop - T-shirts, hats, mugs, and a whole lot more - Thank you for subscribing and supporting the channel! http://www.yblockguy.com (Tim McMaster website) https://www.hotrodreverend.com (Dan Jessup website) This is the build series that many of you have requested - a Ford Y Block V8 build from beginning to end! The Y Block Guy, Tim McMaster, and myself are partnering together to bring you a detailed series of videos that will take the average DIY automotive enthusiast from the beginning of core selection to the full rebuild that puts the engine back on the road. Tim is the owner/operator of the Hanford Auto Supply and Machine, and has been at it in the machine shop for more than 40 years. He owns the record for the world's fastest Y Block with official times slips from Bonneville just a few mph shy of 200. Tim knows how to prepare a Y Block for the flats, the track, and the road. For quite some time, I have been planning to build a 312 Ford Y Block from a 292 C2AE core engine. This first video in the series includes a little bit of information from Tim McMaster at his shop, highlights of my bare engine block, and a few clues as to how we are going to proceed. The current plan is to build a 342" streetable performance engine and install it into my 1955 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan. In the modern era, thousands of owners of classic Fords are being tempted to pull their Y Block ford V8 engine (239, 256, 272, 292, and 312) out of their car or truck and swap it for something else. On this channel, you will find helpful videos like the one that covers the top 5 reasons why you need to consider keeping your Y Block in Ford or Mercury, Y Block intake manifold, carburetor, and ignition videos, and even a few videos on the 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive. Most often, we are uploading at least one video a week as we have opportunity. I also cover DIY tips and tricks in the garage, tool reviews, and most Tuesday's we have a "Tool Tip Tuesday" upload. Subscribe and get notified! Got a question? send it to dan.jessup@hotrodreverend.com, and we will do what we can to help you keep your Y Block engine on the road.
