This is my rendition of Stanley Clarke's Silly Putty – If there is one thing that I can say about this song is that it is very fun to play - especially the solo! As with all Stanley’s songs it tends to be a bit complex; however, each note is very easy to discern. As always, I tried to keep the rendition as close to note for note as possible, with a bit of stylization - it is one of the songs that I played with the band in my younger days. As always, I shot the video close enough that you can see what notes I am playing in case this is a song you are interested in learning - and, as mentioned before, it may make it even easier to see notes played as I have a habit of playing with just 3 fingers on my left hand whenever possible – Enjoy. I am not running my bass through a Bass amp – it is directly connected to one input of the FocusRite 2i2. The FocusRite is then connected to my Mac via USB. The Bass track is mixed with the song track in ScreenFLow 10, and my headphones are connected to the headphone port of the FocusRite for monitoring recording and playback. That’s it. On videos using transitions and title pages, I use Camtasia to add those elements to the output mp4 file from ScreenFlow.
