The Pavagada Fort was built by Ballappanayaka in 1586. It is a post-Vijayanagara fort located in Pavagada, Tumkur district, Karnataka. The Shanimahatma Temple in Pavagada town is famous and attracts devotees from far-off places. Fort has seven levels of fortification and a secret tunnel for the king to escape. The complex also houses a mosque (Earlier Venugopala Swamy temple), a pond, and a massive bunker that gets ample sunlight. Halfway through, there is a small Hanuman Temple.
