It is divided into four main anatomical parts: the head, neck, body, and tail, each with distinct anatomical relations. 🔸 PANCREATIC HEAD: The pancreatic head is the broadest part, nestled within the C-shaped curve of the duodenum. It lies anterior to the inferior vena cava and right renal vessels and surrounds the superior mesenteric vessels posteriorly. The bile duct runs in a groove on the posterosuperior surface or may be embedded in the pancreatic head substance. Inferiorly, the uncinate process projects backwards, lying posterior to the superior mesenteric artery and vein. 🔸 PANCREATIC NECK: The neck of the pancreas is a short segment connecting the head to the body, positioned anterior to the portal vein and superior mesenteric vessels. It lies near the pylorus of the stomach around the L1-L2 vertebra levels. 🔸 PANCREATIC BODY: The body of the pancreas extends leftward from the neck and tapers toward the tail. It forms the floor of the lesser sac. Anteriorly, it is covered by peritoneum; posteriorly, it is related to major vessels including the abdominal aorta and superior mesenteric artery. The left adrenal gland, left kidney, and renal vessels lie posterior to the body. 🔸 PANCREATIC TAIL: The tail is the narrowest and most mobile part, extending to the splenic hilum. It lies anterior to the left kidney and closely related to the splenic vessels within the splenorenal ligament. The tail is intraperitoneal unlike the other parts. Together, these relations allow the pancreas to interface with important vascular structures, parts of the digestive tract (duodenum), and surrounding organs (kidneys, spleen, adrenal glands), crucial for understanding its function and implications for surgery or disease such as tumors or pancreatitis. 💡 Don't forget to LIKE 👍, SHARE 📤, and SUBSCRIBE 🔔 for more high-yield medical content! 🎯 Hit that bell icon to never miss an update! 🔔 💬 Drop your questions in the comments below! 👇 #PancreasAnatomy #MedicalStudents #NEETPG #MBBS #AnatomyMadeEasy #MedicalEducation #INICET #FMGE #SurgeryAnatomy #MedSchool #Retroperitoneal #UpperGIAnatomy #SurgicalAnatomy --- 🩺 Pancreas anatomy | Pancreatic relations | Medical student resources | Upper GI anatomy | Abdomen anatomy for MBBS | Retroperitoneal organs | Splenic hilum | Superior mesenteric vessels
