Another cross-section of passenger, freight and heritage trains in the Lithgow - Bathurst areas throughout May 2024. One scene is filmed at Leura. Another varied mix in this one: 4829 "Les Walsh" makes it first appearance in ages, ‪@TransportHeritageNSW‬ appear with their "Blue Mountains Flyer", ‪@lachlanvalleyrailway3381‬ have 631/731 (a regular cast member) whilst QUBE, SSR, Pacific National and NSW Trainlink all contribute regular cast members like the Indian Pacific, Kelso Flyer (with double Jumbos), Blayney ore and Central West XPT services. Addressing feedback on recent releases, a selection of narrated history is also included in this film. Brad Peadon - Semi-Retired Foamer:    / @neathspadge   I feel like I'm repeating myself when I say this volume includes a wide variety of trains across a wide variety of locations, but they very much do. We head the furthest east this series ever has (though not as far as it will) to Leura for the Blue Mountains Flyer with 3265 "Hunter" (a BV debutant) and 3526, west to Wimbledon for quad 81s on PN's 8938 (possibly the last time we'll see this once-regular thing) and to several locations in between for the cast of trains listed above too. Highlights, as mentioned, are 4829 "Les Walsh" at Brewongle, double Jumbos at Gemalla, the Indian Pacific in Macbeth-esque fog at Sodwalls, 631/731 at Piper's Flat and the return of the AK cars which open the film - these haven't appeared for a bit. We also get QUBE's 8114 making an appearance and unlike in Vol. 46, this time it's fully loaded! Feedback on some recent films that didn't include narrated history indicated this was something people enjoy about my productions. To this end, I have included some potted history throughout this film about Piper's Flat and Wallerawang (W'wang is narrated, PF is not) and a longer history class on Sodwalls' former station (1872 - 1990s). Two images used in this segment (the 1964 ones) are owned by Weston Langford's estate and licensed under Creative Commons - links above. The third, depicting the station in the late 80s, is owned by Brad Peadon ‪@NeathSpadge‬ who has kindly given permission for its use here.
