Fastest way to get a fruiting sized plant of Physallis edulis also known as Physallis peruviana. Common names include: Cape Gooseberry, Goldenberry and Peruvian Groundcherry. Physallis is often grown from seed but seed raised plants take many months to grow large enough to flower and fruit. In many countries the summer is not long enough to allow the plants to fruit for more than a few weeks. This method allows plants to mature much more quickly and to bear fruit earlier and longer in the summer season. In cold climates, propagate a few plants in the autumn / fall and keep on a windowsill overwinter.
