In her interview on Al Mayadeen's The Proximate Aspect, US journalist and activist Abby Martin challenged US President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan in Gaza, arguing that it is not an economic revival but an "economic weapon" designed to "repackage occupation". Martin said the ceasefire plan "cannot hold", arguing that "Israel should not be trusted, and it should be disarmed immediately and demilitarized," pointing to its record of breaking ceasefire commitments and excluding Palestinians from negotiations. She highlighted that the proposal centers on Israeli-controlled zones while leaving Palestinians under a "two-tiered system" with restricted access to food, aid, and medicine.
