Algonquin 2025 09 15 Day1 Kawawaymog Lake to Lorne Lake

Day 1 We stayed the night in South River then in the morning drove up to our access point at Kawawaymog Lake. This took us through the windy river of Amable Du Fond which then spilled onto North Tea Lake. We had simple and short portages until we reached our portage that took us from North Tea Lake to Lorne lake. This nearly 2km portage wasn’t the most difficult one (see in May of 2025 for Heart Attach Marie for that), but its length made it no joke. Luckily for us it meant absolutely no one was showing up on Lorne Lake. We had the entire lake to ourselves!! Our original plan was to stay a day or two then move onto another lake. Leaving was just too hard as the lake was too perfect.
