Report: On September 21, 2025, at approximately 0230 hours, Sherwood Police Department initiated a vehicle pursuit involving a white 2012 Ford Escape traveling northbound on I-57 near mile marker 5. The pursuit continued onto I-440 westbound for approximately six miles before the suspect vehicle reversed course and returned to I-57 northbound. During this time, Sherwood PD requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police. I, Sgt. Nathan Williams, responded to assist and continued northbound on I-57. As I approached mile marker 12, the pursuit had progressed to mile marker 16, where the suspect vehicle exited the interstate and began traveling southbound on I-57, in my direction. As the pursuit approached my location, I turned around in the median and took over as the primary unit as the suspect vehicle passed me traveling at approximately 100 mph. As the suspect vehicle slowed near mile marker 11, possibly preparing to take the exit, I executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) by placing the passenger side of my front bumper on the driver's side rear bumper of the suspect vehicle. The maneuver caused the vehicle to rotate approximately 360 degrees before coming to rest on the inside shoulder of the interstate. The driver, later identified as John Webb, exited the vehicle while it was still in gear and fled on foot across the center median wall. The suspect vehicle continued to roll forward until it came to a stop against the concrete barrier wall. I, along with a Sherwood PD officer, initiated a foot pursuit across multiple lanes of traffic and through grassy ditches. Upon reaching the northbound service road, I deployed my Taser 10, striking the suspect and causing him to fall to the ground. The Sherwood PD officer then took the suspect into custody and took possession of the prisoner. After returning to our patrol vehicles, I removed two Taser 10 probes from the suspect’s mid back and leg. The suspect sustained a minor injury to a fingernail on his right hand during the fall. Sherwood PD took possession of the vehicle and transported the suspect to the Pulaski County Detention Center for booking.
