No Death Run of the whole game One Sitting. No restarts, no nothing. Japanese Hard. Highest difficulty. Fresh New Game. No inherited upgrades. Incredible action game that got severely misunderstood by the incompetent "professional" reviewers. Definitely not for the casual gamer, as this title demands skill. Maybe that's why they slammed it, I don't know, but this game is a perfect example why you should never trust the "official" reviews. As with "God Hand" that was also slammed back in the day, which is now considered a cult classic, I am pretty sure "Wanted: Dead" will go down the same road. Onto the game itself. It is hard. Unapologetically hard. As with good games in general, you need to dedicate some time to learn how everything works in order to have a proper rewarding experience. Japanese Hard is absolutely brutal! The mechanic where you get a bit of life back by attacking enemies back is disabled here. Almost all the enemies have a one-hit-kill attack, and you are generally no more than 3 melee hits away from death. Melee damage is insane on this difficulty! Also, you must count on parries heavily. That means, you just have to learn each enemy's attack pretty well if you want to ever survive. Sometimes death comes so swiftly, in like one second. Most bosses can one-shot you too. Truly a hardcore experience! I got revived way too many times, but...oh, well, it is what it is. You get one revive per checkpoint SOMETIMES, not always. Story dictates when Doc is with you and when not. "Wanted: Dead" is a hidden gem. If you like hardcore action games, definitely try it out!
