The Shadow's Edge (2025) Review | Trinity Cine Asia Release - Jackie Chan V Tony Leung Ka-fai After immersing myself in long review runs of Hong Kong or Japanese cinema, Jackie Chan always feels like the perfect palate cleanser. His films, whether they’re towering masterworks, solid mid-tier entries, or even the occasional weaker effort - never fail to lift my mood. No matter the quality of the production, I can rely on Mr. Chan’s energy, inventiveness, and sheer charm to put a smile on my face. The Shadow’s Edge was one I missed during its theatrical run, but I’m glad to have finally caught up with it. At 2 hours and 20 minutes, it certainly leaves a strong impression. The real question is does it balance something fresh with a touch of old-school Jackie Chan magic, or does it truly become a lustre mainland China production entry?
