A quick comparison of 3 135mm Pentax lenses using my trusty Pentax K-5. Pictures were shot on a tripod, 1.5m away from the subject. You will notice that although the focal lengths are all the same, the framings are not. This is due to focus-breathing. It seems that the 18-135mm has heavy focus breathing, therefore it's not a true 135mm at minimum focusing distance. Conclusion: The FA 135mm is the sharpest of the bunch but it is also extremely rare and quite expensive. The Takumar 135mm 2.5 is very close to the FA's sharpness and indistinguishable at smaller apertures. This is very impressive for a lens that's almost 50 years old. The is the least sharp but is no slouch. It is also the most versatile option being a zoom lens with WR and internal focusing motors. Music: "Fresh Fallen Snow" by Chris Haugen
