I was given by Bestcigliquid a selection of 100% naturally extracted tobacco e-liquids to review. In today’s review is the Latakia Blend. Bestcigliquid description, Produced in Cyprus, sun-cured then cured furthermore over aromatic woods and fragrant herbs, this flavour produces an intense smokey-peppery taste and smell. A very strong Tobacco, ideally to be mixed with other Tobaccos. I added a brief description on the process & flavour profile of the Latakia blend. Latakia is a beautifully intense, dark tobacco, with incredible smoky flavours and a subtle spicy bite. It is nearly always sold as a blend due to the intense flavour and is mostly found in classical English tobaccos, as well as a few American ones. Oriental tobaccos come from the northern Mediterranean regions of Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Syria and the Balkans. They generally feature small leaves, most often sun-cured. Orientals are naturally aromatic, concentrated in volatile waxes and oils, giving them a savoury pungency or sweet-and-sour flavour. Latakia (historically, most of it a product of Syria and Cyprus) begins as an Oriental type and is additionally cured in the smoke of open fires using aromatic woods, imparting a distinctly smoky, spicy, leathery flavour.
