What does it really mean to “be still”? Psalm 46:10 is often quoted, but rarely explained in its full context. In this teaching, we explore stillness not as passivity, but as trust—especially in the middle of chaos, fear, and uncertainty. Drawing from biblical context, theology, and clinical insight, this message reframes stillness as a practice of regulation and faith. Psalm 46 was written in a time of political instability, violence, and threat—and God’s command to “be still” was not an escape from reality, but a call to stop striving for control. This sermon integrates: • Biblical exegesis of Psalm 46 • Theological meaning of trust and surrender • Clinical insights on nervous system regulation • A modern reflection on urgency, anxiety, and faith This message is part of our Under Construction series at Reform Church, shared with our community in the Nashville area and online. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, behind, or pressured to move faster than your soul can handle—this message is for you. Welcome to Reformation Church Nashville!
