This is a play-through using Miss Wednesday in the PS1 game One Piece: Grand Battle! Read on below for more information... Miss Wednesday is a special hidden character in the game. She is an unlockable playable character. ===== About Miss Wednesday ===== She is an average character with good run speed, but unfortunately the basics with her weapons are a bit slow and the recovery time leaves her vulnerable if they miss. Her jumping kick however is a very good anti-air, and her sliding kick to upper kick is good as well. Her supers are fairly good, especially the Divine Dances which have a good range and can catch opponents out. ===== About One Piece Grand Battle! ===== The game is based on the One Piece manga/anime, and uses deformed style 3D characters for the gameplay. The gameplay is definitely not your typical 3D fighting game... in fact it's nothing like a fighting game. Instead, it's probably more like Smash Bros. or a "2D-plane-version" of Power Stone. If you're new to this, do not expect to go into this game thinking you can uppercut Nami with Dragon Punches or land 10-hit juggle combos on Monkey. Matches are fought on 3D arenas, which consist of many obstacles. Despite the arena being 3D, it's actually set on a 2D plane, so you cannot move inwards or outwards on the areas. Players can break open chests, barrels and boxes and pick up items such as power-ups, life restoration food, traps, bombs and life depletion foods. Or you can pick these items up and throw them at the opponent if you want. There are also water areas which the characters can fall into which causes them to lose a bit of life. I have to say though, this game does a very good job of making your gameplay characters "blend in" with the background and it's characters... it's kind of funny. Voice-acting for the cut-scenes and dialogues are also included. Anyway, despite the gameplay being fairly okay (the CPU opponents can be difficult), it's a high quality PS1 game.
