On May 2011, A Japanese developer known as Sen, released a horror game titled “misao”. The game is about a group of students who were transported to another dimension because of a curse from a dead classmate and must find her body parts to lift the curse while avoiding spirits that would kill them at any time. Because of its simple yet deep storyline, the game became immensely popular at a time where horror gaming was seen leaning more and more towards actions rather than horror and with channel such as Pewdiepie, Markiplier covering the game, it only increased the game popularity even more. Misao would receive remastered over the years to come, with improvement such as new pixel art style, minor storyline changes and more added accessibility that made the game easier for newcomers.
