In this lesson, we will dive into muting techniques on the left hand. Here we will focus on getting muted notes that help propel the rhythm without adding too much color to a sustained note. This technique can add a really great rhythmic device and some interesting complexity to your bass line. This technique does require a great deal of shifting. I would recommend once you feel comfortable with this technique, try playing the targeting exercise while muting each note. Take your time and have fun!
