Since 2018, 38-year-old Eleonora Pucci, restorer for the Galleria Dell’Accademia, has been the only person allowed to clean the David, and she does it every two months. She climbs up on metal scaffolding and spends at least six hours working over the body carrying a small electric vacuum cleaner made for museums a brush and a soft cloth. The Tuscan artist's masterpiece is one of the emblems of the Renaissance and a symbol abroad for both Florence and Italy.
