The Flaming Gorge 2024 | Free Camping & Epic Fishing

We head back to the Flaming Gorge on the Utah side to hit one of the most presstine and fast action bodies of water in the area! Flaming Gorge is known for it sheer size and depth, jaw dropping rock walls, fossils, history, extensive waterways, and epic fishing. Just recently people have been smacking lake trout down deep up and well past 30 lbs. Home to bass, rainbow trout, Lake Trout (mackinaw), giant carp, chubs, colorado squaw, utah chub, bonytail chub, humpback chub, and more. This lake covers the states of Utah and Wyoming and you can access both sides with a dual state license. There are tons of areas to hit the surrounding rivers, most famously it is an incredible launch point to fly fish or float the Green river beneath the dam from Dutch John. In this video with hit the reservoir near and around dutch john and camped nearby on the water. This is a world class area to boat and explore the off chutes and surounding area and troll/jig for monster trout. Storms were on and off all weekend with temps between 40 to 80 degrees. Fire danger is low right now. Wildlife was abundant from free range cattle all around camp and the shores to deer and antelope to name a few.
