In this week’s woodturning video, Harry was contacted to see if he wanted to try out an 8-inch Variable Speed Bench Grinder. What beaver doesn’t want new tools to play with his wood with? Vevor sent us along a grinder with a 36 and 80 grit wheel. I was wanting to get a second grinder to keep course grit wheels on to do tool reshaping and reprofiling so it was a great opportunity. As for the grinder itself it did a good job. If you’re planning to use this for woodturning an upgrade in a platform system or a Wolverine Jig would be a must. You can’t get an accurate grind with these platforms as there is too much play. If you’re looking for a cheap 8in grinder I think this might work for you.
