Kingdom Loop kinda looks like a board game, doesn't it? Your hero automatically moves around the road in a real-time with pause format, and you're regularly given cards for buildings, natural resources, and other facilities to place on the board. Some cards want to be placed adjacent to the road, some want to be placed anywhere away from it. How you place cards matters since some make combinations depending on what other tiles are next to it, such as making a Sawmill with Forest and Village tiles. But what cards you place may make the boss stronger... Battles look like Heroes of Might & Magic, but there's no hex grid nor movement except pre-battle formation editing. Every unit has a number of tags that interact with units that have other tags. One unit might be effective against Undead, another might be effective against Backline, and so on. Defeating enemies grants equipment your hero can wear, modifying their stats which in turn bolsters or weakens specific troops.
