GoPro Floating Grips Handler vs SAMETOP

GoPro's The Handler floating hand grip was included in the HERO7 Black kit I purchased from ‪@CostcoTV‬. I wondered how it stacked up against SAMETOP's Floating Hand Grip. In this video, I use both the SAMETOP and GoPro's The Handler in the waves of one of the World's largest bodies of fresh water, Lake Michigan. I let you see for yourself how these two floating hand grips keep my GoPro HERO5 Black and GoPro HERO7 Black action cameras afloat in the choppy waves. You can watch and compare the two so you can make your own best judgement. I found the SAMETOP Floating Hand Grip's best feature was that it was quickly dried vs. GoPro's The Handler has a nice soft cushioned grip but it does seem to take more time to dry out if you wish to quickly throw it back into a camera bag after a day at the beach, pool or snorkeling. Both of the grips performed well regarding keeping the GoPro camera's afloat. I do think the GoPro Handler floats slightly higher in the water compared to the SAMETOP. SAMETOP Floating Hand Grip has the added advantage of a water-tight storage compartment built-in to the handle itself. This would be convenient for keeping a few dollars safe and/or a boating license, etc. However, I'd be aware that anything with additional weight may cause the grip to float even lower in the water which may defeat the purpose of allowing visible recovery of a GoPro camera accidentally dropped overboard or lost while swimming. The biggest advantage of the SAMETOP is at roughly half the price of GoPro's The Handler, the SAMETOP Floating Hand Grip does provide slightly better value.
