Plex 4K Movie Options for Harold

There's three options... How to create a separate 4K library. Use Plex's version naming to put a 4K and 1080p version of a movie in the same movie library that Plex will scan in as one entry, while then deciding which one is best played. How to manually use Plex's edition tag naming option to prep a movie filename so Plex will scan in as it's own entry, while clearly showing the edition tag. I then move on how to using Filebot to your advantage to add supported edition tags automatically, or to use Filebot with a custom expression that you would only use on 4K movies to quicky rename and add a 4K edition tag. I would keep and any movie with a non-standard edition tag in a manual sort folder, so you're not tempted to turn Filebot loose on your movie colection at some point in the future. For example.... 123 Non-Standard Editions/Metropilis (1927)/Metropilis (1927) {edition-4k}.mkv & Metropilis (1927) {edition-Colorized}.mp4, with the plain Metropilis (1927).mkv in it's own movie folder like all your other movies. If you ever move your media to a new system years down the road and want to run Filebot again on your media, the folder 123 Non-Standard Editions should stick out like a sore thumb. I forgot to note that my custom edition also descovered the language of the .srt subtitle. This is the Filebot movie expression I broke down at the end of the video. Movie Rename Non-Compliant Folder (Empty former Compliant Folder) {n} ({y}) {" {tmdb-$id}"}/{n} ({y}) {" {tmdb-$id}"} { "{edition-${tags.first()}}" } - [{vf} {vc} {af} {ac}]{ 'en' in text.language ? '[ENGSUB]' :null in text.language ? '[UNDSUB]' : null }{subt} Remember, this expression only works if you've also installed MediaInfo alongside Filebot. Happy Plexing.
