In this video, I offer suggestions about a number of steps that a person new to studying foreign languages might want to consider taking to lay the ground for successful rather than frustrated foreign language learning. These include establishing habits like set times and places to study, acquiring background knowledge about languages, and experiencing language study as pleasurable exploration.
