The Erhu, is a two-stringed bowed musical instrument, more specifically a spike fiddle, which may also be called a Southern Fiddle, and is sometimes known in the Western world as the Chinese violin or a Chinese two-stringed fiddle. The Erhu can be traced back to proto-Mongolic instruments which first appeared in China during the Tang Dynasty. Sai Ma is a solo music piece wrote by Huang Haihuai for the Chinese traditional instrument Erhu. Chen Yi Miao is the third generation of the famous Erhu family. She learnt to play the Erhu since childhood. Her grandpa, Chen Yao Xing, who is a famous Erhu musician, is her first teacher. Chen Yi Miao shows great talent in Erhu and has been the winner of Erhu in 2019 CCTV Chinese Instruments TV Competition. She is a student in Berklee College of Music.
