Sulaiman Iqbal is a final-year History student at the University of Cambridge. After his first year at university, he returned to his council estate in Southall, West London to build Team UPside - a grassroots community organisation tackling opportunity and resources gaps for young people from less-advantaged backgrounds. Sulaiman is a firm believer in the idea that local problems are most effectively addressed by local actors with local solutions. This talk shares 3 stories that explain why he believes we need to create, bring back and invest in our local communities.
