(29 Oct 1995) T/I: 10:07:26 Hope was shattered on Saturday (28/10) that a peace deal soon would be signed for Croatia's disputed region of Eastern Slavonia when rebel Serb leaders cancelled talks with the Croatian government. The talks were to be held in the Croatian port of Osijek on Sunday (29/10), but after Saturday's (27/10) negotiations, US Ambassador to Zagreb Peter Galbraith and his UN colleague, envoy Thorvald Stoltenberg, confirmed they failed to find commmon ground for agreement.
