SPT Spotting presents: Planes at a Cold and murky London City (LCY)

Hello and welcome to the first episode of the inaugural 2026 SPT Planespotting Season from London City Airport, taken on 4th March 2026. It's a nice quirky little airport famed for its 5.5 degree approach where incoming planes must nosedive to pass under the holding patterns for the nearby London Heathrow. The largest aircraft to come into London City is the Embraer E195-E2 of KLM CityHopper. Unfortunately no KLM CityHopper services feature here. The airport is dominated by the Embraer E190, although different aircraft do come in such as the Airbus A220-100 series - the only Airbus aircraft certified to fly into LCY, ATRs and De Havilland Dash 8s.
