One hundred couples were getting married at Old Marylebone Town Hall on Tuesday in a mass celebration to mark 100 years of the iconic venue. The town hall’s steps were covered in confetti as the sound of popping champagne corks and cheers from well-wishers filled the air. The venue, which has been the site of scores of celebrity weddings including Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr, and Liam Gallagher, charged the couples just £100 for participating in the event. Couples began filing up and down the steps of the Westminster building at 8.30am with the last ceremony expected to take place at 10.30pm. Rain poured down on proceedings on Tuesday morning, with the old saying that a wet wedding day was a sign of good luck oft repeated by attendees.
