Introductory remarks by Dr. Susumu Satomi, President, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) ---------- Please find the event details below. ↓ "Online webinar: Launch of Horizon Europe – the 9th EU Research & Innovation Framework Programme (2021-2027)" On 7 July, the Delegation of the European Union to Japan marked the launch of Horizon Europe, the ninth EU Research and Innovation Framework Programme, with an online webinar. With its focus on global challenges, crosscutting missions, partnerships and open science, Horizon Europe is an excellent vehicle to bring the EU-Japan partnership in research and innovation to a new level. This webinar, was the first of its type in Japan on the programme; it introduced Horizon Europe and explained its importance and significance to researchers in Japan. A series of welcome addresses and introductory remarks from key stakeholders in both the EU and Japan were followed by an explanation of Horizon Europe and the first set of calls issued under the first Work Programme for 2021-2022, chiefly from the perspective of EU-Japan collaboration, frontier research and mobility opportunities.
