We live in a world where doing nothing feels responsible. We call it being careful. We call it wisdom. We call it “not rocking the boat.” But according to Jesus, burying what God entrusted to you is not caution — it is wickedness. In this sermon from Matthew 25:14–30 (The Parable of the Talents) and Ecclesiastes 9:10, we confront a culture that rewards comfort, excuses fear, and baptizes disobedience as discernment. God gives every person a limited window of strength, opportunity, and responsibility. That window closes. And the Master returns. Jesus does not measure faithfulness by intention. He measures it by action. The servant who buried his talent was not neutral. He made a choice — to preserve himself instead of serve his Master. And Jesus calls that servant wicked and slothful. This message exposes: Why fear is not an excuse — it is evidence How playing it safe becomes rebellion Why obedience cannot be postponed indefinitely What it really means to be a faithful steward What account you will give when the season ends You will not be judged for what you meant to do. You will be judged for what you did with what was placed in your hands. This is not a motivational talk. This is a warning — and a call to repentance. Questions to wrestle with: What has God placed in your hands? What have you buried to protect yourself? When the Master returns, what account will you give? This week — not eventually: Name the talent you’ve been hiding. Take one visible step of obedience. Remove the exit plan. Because your time is limited and the Master will return, failing to steward what God has given you is not caution. It is wickedness. Repent. #ParableOfTheTalents #Matthew25 #ChristianSermon #BiblicalStewardship #FaithAndObedience #Repentance #JesusTeaching #ChristianAccountability
