Hi Lovelies! Let’s Draw/Paint/Explore/Notice/Discover & Create! In this video I want to show you a Sketchbook I’ve been keeping & Share with you a few books/writings that have really impressed this method of working on me.. . As I was reading the following~ 1. an Italian Journey by Anne Desmet 2. Mary Newcomb {a book compiled by her loved ones about her painting} 3. Cressida Campbell & 4. This Substack Post by Helen Dealtry https://helendealtry.substack.com/p/t... I began really thinking about the value of fragile, faint, almost impalpable considerations ~ the tiny parts of our days & our lives.. . I began thinking about compiling them into a small pocket sized annotated sketchbook, preserving details & beginning to see what I {or what you} notice ~ in other words, I get questions about how to know What to Paint, & once you begin to take notice of these details, I think you’ll start to understand what you feel thrilled about, you’ll find subjects you love, things that make you happy ~ those are the things I love to make paintings of .. . Often we filter our subjects through our own lens & try to show others why they’re important ~ it’s something I love about Painting! The other Important Reason I hope you’ll try this method of keeping a Sketchbook is to try to curb that all too intrusive negative dialogue.. . {Even as i was editing this video I kept thinking, why do I bother making videos if the algorithm hates me, im so behind on what i wanted to do this year, do all the videos look the same, there are plenty of people already creating content so I don’t really need to add to that etc} It’s so important to give ourselves tiny pockets where we can breathe.. . A place to pair back all the demands we put on ourselves & just enjoy plodding along, enjoy the Sunshine{unless, like today, you would fizzle! I keep telling Millie, “get out of the sunshine, you will turn into a ham” lol} At any rate, I hope for the next 2 or 3 months you will join me in taking little notes, jotting down what you notice, sketching ideas & brainstorming things you enjoy! I think at the end you find find in your pocket sketchbook a valuable repertoire of beauty! Have a Lovely Week Petals! Try to Stay Cool! 🌬️🧊❄️🍧🧁 Here’s the link for last weeks printables https://www.etsy.com/listing/43278233... 💕
