Certain plants are very willing to root along their stem, many common culinary herbs are like this. Oregano, Thyme, Mint, Rosemary, Lavender, Hyssop, so so many more... By being potted up in a nice large pot, settled a bit lower than normal, and having moist sawdust or potting mix added over their stems as they grow, you can facilitate one plant becoming many 10s of more plants in a growing season, all while being in the pot.
