(1966), and Columbo, Prescription: Murder (1968). His film credits include: The Graduate,The Milagro Beanfield War, The Champ, The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Firm, Havana, Heaven Can Wait, and On Golden Pond. . Where Were You When the Lights Went Out?, Three Days of the Condor, The Goonies, Tequila Sunrise, Hope Floats, Random Hearts, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter and The Firm. He also received a best original song nomination for "It Might Be You" from the film Tootsie. He has won tons of awards for his compositions as he is able to delve deep into the genre he is composing for. I found this little gem on the soundtrack of the 1979 film "The Electric Horseman" starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda which was better known for the Willie Nelson songs. That's too bad since Dave's contributions were exceptionally strong, especially "Disco Magic" which I felt had that special something that made disco a force to be reckoned with. Back in the day, disco music was not a radio genre. Hell, disco did not even know it was disco. It was simply music that we all got together to dance to in a dark room with pretty lights and a booming sound system that shook your insides....there were no divas, no you broke my heart so I'm going to go on and survive songs...it was all about getting out on the dance floor and forgetting your troubles, a celebration of release and community. There is no question that once it went mainstream that great disco music was created and that everyone could participate, but the innocence melted away and the push push in the bush disco porn thing kinda took over. I really enjoyed all of disco, from beginning to the "end" in 1979 ("although it never really went away, it just changed names to protect the innocent " Gloria Gaynor). I hope you enjoy this little disco nugget.
