In today’s update, we’re looking at the clash between Quaid’s ideals and the harsh realities we face today—everything from political chaos and privatization to economic struggles, concerns over rights, and a government trying to balance power with accountability. On the occasion of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s 149th birthday, leaders made their usual promises of faith, unity, and discipline, but the gap between what they say and what actually happens was glaringly obvious. While civil and military leaders paid their respects and called for a return to Jinnah’s democratic principles, the country was wrestling with serious political, economic, and institutional crises. Former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Mirza Shahzad Akbar, made headlines in the UK after being attacked leaving him “bruised and fractured”. Back home, the controversial privatization of PIA sparked protests from workers, even as the government defended the Rs135 billion sale amidst a backdrop of massive debt and bureaucratic issues. The industrial sector is feeling the pinch too, with 144 textile mills shutting down, traders gearing up for protests against the FBR’s new POS (Point of Sales) enforcement, and solar consumers facing setbacks due to a reduced net-metering policy. Courts stepped in to curb executive overreach by suspending Punjab’s property law, while rights organizations raised alarms that new riot legislation could suppress dissent. Politically, the calls for dialogue felt empty as opposition groups, PTI factions, and students readied themselves for protests. All these events paint a picture of a governance model that seems to be drifting further away from Jinnah’s vision of justice, accountability, and public trust. Be ahead of Pakistan's political tides, economic issues, and global controversies that determine the tone of global narratives. 👉 Like, Subscribe, and share your comments in the comments section — this is news that matters.
