SOUNDBITE (Italian) Penelope Cruz/Actress: "I said that I would have acted in the movie two or three years before filming, during these years many things happened, one of these things is that I became a mother. I understood the book very well before living this experience as a woman, but it is true that after this experience you understand much more and in a deeper way what she is missing, what she cannot have in her life, her obsession, this desire, that she lives in a very particular way - because she is a very particular character. I think that all women can understand this, even if they have not been in a similar situation, it is very easy to understand what such a woman feels, when she really wants to have children but she can't." 15. Wide press conference room and actors sitting down 16. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Sergio Castellitto/Director: "We met again with Penelope and we left, I did very long surveys, I travelled, I have been to Sarajevo, in that wounded city, emotionally still out of synch in some way, where maybe victims and the torturer still walk together and don't know who the victim and who the torturer is." 17. Journalists during press conference 18. SOUNDBITE (English) Adnan Haskovic/Actor: "For me, this movie - not that I'm playing in it or something - is one of the best movies of Bosnia and the conflict there, because it's not presented in a pathetic way, not like there are the victims or something, but we see humans who fight for survival, for life, and still their life, it doesn't matter what the occasions are." 19. People attending the press conference 20. SOUNDBITE (English) Saadet Aksoy/Actress: "When I was going back to my hotel room, while working on the movie, I wasn't able to take myself out of the story, because I knew that this was a real story. Of course this was not a real story but stories like that happened in Bosnia in the recent past, so this was something I couldn't help, it was impossible for me to not feel anything about it." 21.
