In this video, I head out to the Pacific Northwest coast and turn one weather-worn piece of driftwood into a form for a concrete sculpture — and sell it for $300 on @saatchiart From beach find to finished form, I walk through the full process: • Selecting a piece of driftwood • Building a mold around organic shapes • Mixing and pouring concrete • Demolding and refining texture • Finishing and preparing it for sale The Pacific Northwest coastline has some of the most incredible natural forms — twisted grain, salt-bleached surfaces, and textures shaped by years of tide and wind. Instead of carving from scratch, I let nature do the design work and use concrete to preserve the energy of the wood in a permanent sculptural form. This project is about more than just making art — it’s about spotting opportunity in raw materials, and turning found objects into income. If you're into: • Concrete art • Coastal / organic sculpture • Creative side hustles • Making money from found materials • Pacific Northwest maker life — this one’s for you. Let me know in the comments what natural material I should experiment with next.
