That's because it's so easy and cheap to legitimately acquire or option the material -- why steal when you can option a script for a couple bucks and avoid a possible lawsuit? Well, that was then. But in this age of corporatism run amok, it should come as no surprise that a few entitled elite Hollywood-types seem to think they can do whatever they please without worrying about consequences of any kind.
