During this ninth installment of my Know Your Candidate video, I discuss some of the qualities I feel are most important in, not only law enforcement, but any position of power. There are many factors to consider. The loud minority have created tension for everyone. many people have lost faith in law enforcement and are being brainwashed to attack them without provocation. It's a dangerous time for anyone wearing a badge. But there is much to be said about practicing de-escalation on a regular basis. Not every encounter should turn into a fight. If that's the case, the officer is either in the wrong line of work, or they lack proper training. Always be nice. It doesn't matter what words someone attacks you with. Can't cut flesh. So be nice....Until it's time to not be nice. When that happens, handle the situation as quickly, readily, and directly as possible.
