In this video, Lindsey Shepard introduces us to the new LFT Laser Measurement Sensor from Banner Engineering. The LTF is a High performance easy to use sensor that is ready to measure 50-12000 mm right out of the box. It uses time-of-flight measurement to calculate distance by emitting a pulsed light and measuring the amount of time it takes the light to reflect off the object and return to the sensor. This enables sensing in long range applications across a wide variety of targets. The LTF detects dark targets up to 7 meters and white targets out to 12 meters with a repeatability of less than 5mm and an accuracy of plus or minus 10mm. Its rugged die cast zinc housing and durable acrylic lens cover are rated up to IP67 and stand up to extreme industrial environments. The sensor features a two-line eight character display and pushbutton programming for easy setup, troubleshooting and real-time distance measuring. The discrete output is user configurable NPN or PNP. Where the analog output is 4-20 mA or 0-10 volt depending on the model. It offers a best in class combination of accuracy, repeatability, and range with consistent detection of targets at any angle. This sensor has the ability to measure fast moving targets with ease with a response speed of 1.5ms.
